WVU alumni establish scholarship, enrichment fund to honor retired business school professor

The former students of a staple in the West Virginia University Department of Accounting are giving back to the College and University to honor his work and to look to the future of the industry. The gift is given in honor of Robert S. Maust, who retired in 2013 after more than 50 years at the College of Business and Economics and made a tremendous impact on the lives of countless accounting students.

Charleston Businessman Robert 'Bob' Orders to lead WVU Foundation board

A resident of Charleston, Orders is CEO of Orders Construction Company, Inc., a highway, utility and industrial construction company with operations in West Virginia and Virginia.

Orders is a 1972 graduate of WVU with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and has been a member of the Foundation Board of Directors since 2011. His wife, Ann, also graduated from WVU’s College of Education and Human Services in 1972.

Farm Credit gift supports value-added experiences programing for WVU Davis College Students

Five years ago, the West Virginia UniversityDavis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design set as a priority providing students with value-added experiences -- outside the classroom internships, research opportunities and study abroad – to help with recruitment and retention.

With a recent gift of $500,000, Farm Credit of the Virginias will help to ensure students continue to have access to those opportunities that enhance their college experience.

Nypaver receives Don Marsh Scholarship in Healthcare Writing

Jenna Nypaver, a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, is the latest recipient of the Don Marsh Scholarship in Healthcare Writing. The scholarship includes a tuition waiver and a paid internship in the University Relations office at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Nypaver received her bachelor of science degree in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications from WVU. She previously worked as an intern at the WVU Alumni Association focusing on philanthropy communications.
