"It shows that someone believes in me," said Matteo Cerasoli, majoring in mechanical
aerospace engineering. "I've presented them with what I've done so far in my academic
career and I'm showing them that I'm willing to do more and want to do more.
"Seeing that someone believes in me and they support me, even though they've never
met me face-to-face, it's really inspiring and impactful in the sense that it's
support from even those who don't know who I am."
Overall, WVU (Morgantown campus) awards over $400 million each year in financial
aid, including $50 million in grants and scholarships.
"I would definitely want to show (donors) my greatest gratitude and thank them
for their support," Cerasoli said. "Scholarships, for many people, (are) the
only way that they can go to college and better themselves. Being in a position
to provide that for people is one of the most generous things you could do."
