The West Virginia University Foundation’s Communications team won four awards in the 2019 international MarCom Awards, which recognizes outstanding creative achievement in the marketing and communications fields.
The winners were chosen from more than 6,000 entries from corporate and educational marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals bestows the awards annually.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized for the quality of work we do,” said Bill Nevin, WVU Foundation assistant vice president for communications. “I am proud of our team members for producing work at the highest level, and recognition from the MarCom Awards is further validation of their excellence.”
In the category of digital media, the Foundation’s newly designed web site received a Platinum award, the highest honor given by MarCom.
Two entries received Gold awards. They included the invitation to the Foundation’s campaign celebration in the category of print media/design, and a video featuring WVU Bucklew Scholar Georgia Beatty in the category of video/audio.
The 2017-2018 WVU Foundation Annual Report received an Honorable Mention in the category of print media/annual report.
MarCom is one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious creative competitions in the world. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
