Applications are now being accepted for grants to support female West Virginia University students and programs that benefit women at WVU.
The grants are offered through an enrichment fund created by Women of WVU. The WVU Foundation established the group in 2014 to provide another way for women with a passion for the University to get involved via educational activities, networking opportunities and philanthropy.
Created through the generosity of the group’s leadership council, the Women of WVU Enrichment Fund provides one-year student project grants up to $2,500 and one-to-three-year program grants up to $5,000.
Those interested in this year’s grant opportunities must submit an online application, a proposal stating the need and purpose for funding, and a letter of recommendation. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 22, 2022.
The Women of WVU Enrichment Fund supports activities that complement and enhance projects and programs at the University, especially those that have a direct impact on West Virginia. Funding is not available for tuition, books or fees, or international travel.
Previous grant awards have supported projects centered on issues that impact women, including child and dependent care, access to personal care items, food safety and nutrition, substance abuse, diabetes research and education, women’s success in STEM fields, and removing barriers to success.
The WVU Foundation is the nonprofit organization that receives and administers private donations on behalf of the University.
