(Right to left) WVU Potomac State College Campus President Dr. Jerry Wallace and his wife, Allyson, recently made a gift to the WVU Foundation with the assistance of Dr. Megan Webb, who serves as director of development at the College.
Since his arrival in early December 2024, WVU Potomac State College President Dr. Jerry Wallace has shown his deep commitment to the mission of Potomac State College by focusing on improving student outcomes, fostering a vibrant environment for learning and by building partnerships that are beneficial to students and the community.
The Wallace Brothers WVU PSC Athletic Staff Support Fund was created with a $25,000 gift from Dr. Wallace and his wife, Allyson.
The gift was inspired by the Wallace Brothers, consisting of Dr. Jerry Wallace (the youngest); Marcus (the middle brother); and Lawrence Jr. (the eldest). Lawrence played basketball at Central Michigan University while Jerry and Marcus played basketball at Grand Valley State University. All three brothers earned master’s degrees and are graduates of Grand Valley State University.
The gift will be utilized as a discretionary fund to assist PSC athletic teams with travel, special projects, tournaments and equipment.
"Allyson and I recognize the importance of athletics in the college student experience. Having the ability to attend college as student-athletes changed the trajectory of the Wallace brothers' lives. I'm hopeful our gift will inspire more matching gifts from donors so we can build PSC athletics, thereby changing the trajectory of current and future student-athletes,” Dr. Wallace said.
The Wallace gift was made through the WVU Foundation, the nonprofit organization that receives and administers private donations on behalf of the University and its affiliates.
