Future physician assistants studying at the West Virginia University School of Medicine will benefit from a $50,000 scholarship gift made by Drs. Jennifer and Moe Momen.

The Momens established the scholarship to support the cost of attendance for students in the Physician Assistant Studies program, helping to ease the financial burden of obtaining their degree.

The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with the WVU Foundation, has announced a generous gift from Ken Kendrick, Arizona Diamondbacks owner and WVU alumnus, to support the WVU Baseball program. The gift includes the renaming of Monongalia County Ballpark as the facility now will be known as Kendrick Family Ballpark at the Monongalia County Baseball Complex. 

As president and CEO of the WVU Foundation, F. Duke Perry used his fundraising skills and experience to achieve new philanthropic milestones in support of West Virginia University. Following his passing last week at age 84, he is credited with helping transform WVU into a modern land-grant university. 

Perry led the WVU Foundation from 1999 until his retirement in 2006. He passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, in Fishersville, Virginia.

West Virginia University alumni and friends are invited to come together on March 20 in support of the seventh WVU Day of Giving, an annual fundraising effort organized by the West Virginia University Foundation.

Under the leadership of pioneering neurosurgeon Dr. Ali Rezai, the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute has become one of the most respected institutions in the world for patient care, research, and education. The RNI is performing first-of-its-kind research at its Morgantown facilities, as recently highlighted by a special double-length segment on “60 Minutes.” The response to the “60 Minutes” piece has been tremendous, with RNI receiving an influx of inquiries and interest, as well as additional financial support and publicity from The Tony Robbins Foundation.
