Supporters of West Virginia University donated a record $18.1 million Wednesday (March 22) during the University’s sixth Day of Giving. More than 8,200 gifts were made during the 24-hour online fundraising event held across the University system, also a new record. The $18.1 million figure tops 2022’s WVU Day of Giving record of $15.5 million raised from just over 5,600 gifts.

West Virginia University supporters on Day of Giving Wednesday, March 22, will have many opportunities to amplify the reach of their gifts through a variety of challenges scheduled for the day. 

Applications are now being accepted for the ninth round of grants through an enrichment fund established by Women of WVU. 

As they pursue careers focused on caring and compassion, West Virginia University’s inaugural School of Nursing student ambassadors are already demonstrating their dedication to helping others by sharing their personal experience and expertise with the next generation of nursing students.

West Virginia University will offer adapted mountain and trail bike access to people at no charge with new grant funding from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center.

Scholarship opportunities and educational resources for students at West Virginia University are growing thanks to a late alum’s legacy gifts. A recent $400,000 contribution from Rich Harrison’s trust boosts his total giving to nearly $4.5 million over the past year.
