The West Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association (WVNLA) has been providing financial support to the West Virginia University Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources for more than 25 years, supporting students majoring in horticulture and plant sciences and landscape architecture. Recently, the WVNLA gave $10,000 to support student travel and class supplies for the two programs.  

Trilogy Innovations, Inc., a nationally recognized SBA Certified 8(a) small and minority-owned systems and software engineering company, will donate funds for the creation of a cybersecurity laboratory at the West Virginia University Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources.

Every cancer journey brings surprise twists and turns — even unexpected blessings. The greatest gift amid David Stone’s six-year battle with colon cancer was getting to know the oncology nurses of the WVU Cancer Institute.

Engineering executive Michael “Mike” John began his three-year term on the West Virginia University Foundation Board of Directors at the Board’s recent March quarterly meeting. The Charleston, West Virginia resident, who founded Northeast Natural Energy in 2009, is currently the company’s president and CEO. 

A 1981 graduate of WVU with a degree in petroleum engineering, John previously served as vice president of operations for Chesapeake Energy’s Eastern Division from 2005-2009 where he was instrumental in the drilling, completion and operation of the company’s initial 100 horizontal Marcellus wells across Appalachia.

Generations of alumni and friends will come together on March 26 as West Virginia University holds its eighth Day of Giving, an annual 24-hour fundraising effort organized by the WVU Foundation.
