Women of WVU is supporting three West Virginia University programs and three student-led projects with its latest round of grants as the giving circle marks 10 years.

The West Virginia University Foundation is acknowledging those alumni and friends of WVU who have created endowed scholarships, fellowships and student awards in calendar year 2023.

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is advancing groundbreaking Alzheimer’s disease research with a gift from the family of a dedicated WVU alumnus.

The gift from Sharon Miller establishes the Miller Family Alzheimer’s Research Fund, which aids research focused on diagnosis and treatment. Her contribution honors her late husband, Marshall, who passed away Jan. 20, 2019, following a 15-year battle with the disease.

The inaugural WVU Cancer Institute Golf Classic raised more than $54,000 to benefit patients battling blood cancer.

West Virginia University senior Paislee Adlington was first drawn to engineering on family vacations to Disney World, where the roller coasters piqued her interest. Today, she is shooting for the stars – literally – as she pursues dual bachelor’s degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering.

A $60,000 gift to the West Virginia University College of Law aims to support the next generation of legal professionals through scholarship.

Thanks to a grant from the Les Paul Foundation, music business and industry students will continue their outreach to the community.
