A West Virginia University School of Medicine alumnus and his wife are paying tribute to his alma mater with a planned gift to benefit future students.

Dr. Roger and Linda Lewis pledged an estimated $2 million to WVU as part of their estate. Half of those funds will be used to establish a new scholarship for students from Preston County pursuing a medical degree. The other half will go toward the existing Fund for Medicine, which provides unrestricted support for the School of Medicine at the discretion of leadership.

An annual donation drive led by the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities will bring joy to former foster youth in West Virginia during the holiday season.

For more than 100 days, Julie Vincent and her husband, David, were guests of Rosenbaum Family House as their late daughter, Emily, battled a mysterious lung infection at nearby WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Generous donors stepped up to donate a record $282.6 million to WVU in fiscal year 2023-’24. This support is making an impact to help the University conquer unprecedented challenges and ensure that WVU students can achieve their dreams.
