Thanks to extraordinary support from alumni and friends, the WVU Foundation received $260.7 million in new gifts and pledges in FY ’25, including 47,473 gifts from 22,384 donors, making it the third highest year of giving in the Foundation’s history.

WVU Cancer Institute patient credits LUCAS for early detection followed by lifesaving treatment

With philanthropic support, the WVU Cancer Institute launched LUCAS, a mobile lung cancer screening unit that travels to 42 of West Virginia's most counties. The Cooleys credit lung cancer screening on LUCAS and Dr. Nicholas Baker for giving them many more years together.

WVU grad’s planned gifts boost support for student scholarships and educational resources

A WVU alumna is simultaneously paying tribute to her alma mater and honoring her parents with three planned gifts to benefit future students. Dr. Constance Rothermel, of Essex Fells, New Jersey, pledged generous amounts to support the School of Medicine medical laboratory science program, the School of Nursing and WVU Libraries as part of her estate.

WVU School of Dentistry alumni raise nearly $1M to name orthodontic clinic for longtime department chair

Since 1994, Dr. Peter Ngan has guided students at the WVU School of Dentistry through a rigorous residency program to help them build successful specialty careers in orthodontics. After 30 years, alumni are sharing their gratitude for his dedication with gifts totaling more than $900,000 to name the orthodontics clinic in his honor.
