Meredith Family Golf Performance Center
The WVU Golf Practice Facility at Pete Dye Golf Club will now be called the Meredith Family Golf Performance Center after a generous gift from Rob and Susan Meredith.
“I want to thank Rob and Susan Meredith for their generosity and dedication to our golf program,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “The Meredith Family Golf Performance Center provides our student-athletes with the ability to train and stay competitive year-round in any weather condition, and the beautiful facility at the Pete Dye Golf Club has made a positive impact and strengthened WVU golf.”
The 5,359 square foot facility at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia, opened in 2024 at a cost of $5 million dollars.
“We are thrilled and honored to join so many others in supporting the WVU golf program,” Rob Meredith said. “Susan and I believe that having a nationally competitive golf program enhances the national view of our great University. We are also incredibly proud of the job that Sean and his team have done in building a program that is both competitive and respected across the nation. We hope that our role in supporting the team plays a small part in the Mountaineers’ long-term success.”
The Meredith Family Golf Performance Center provides the WVU golf program with a top-of-the-line space to serve as the program’s home at Pete Dye Golf Club. It includes a team clubhouse and locker room, six indoor hitting bays, driving range, short game area and putting green and a multiple green practice course. The facility is one of the most exquisite in the country, providing the WVU golf program with a powerful recruiting and training tool.
“The Meredith family is yet another example of the amazing support and generosity of proud Mountaineers,” coach Sean Covich said. “West Virginia University has some of the most loyal, passionate and supportive of any school and the Meredith family has continued to develop our golf team since reintroducing the program in 2015. Rob, Susan and their boys have not only made generous contributions but have become great friends and share in our team values of creating great players on and off the golf course. Their help with our new team facility at Pete Dye continues to put our program in position to have success.”
The gift from the Meredith family was made through the WVU Foundation, the nonprofit organization that receives and administers private donations on behalf of the University.
