More than 10 years after moving away from the Mountain State, an Ohio couple is strengthening their commitment to central West Virginia with a $100,000 gift to expand local outreach and experiential learning opportunities via the West Virginia University Center for Community Engagement, a unit under the WVU Division for Land-Grant Engagement.
A recent $75,000 gift from WesBanco on WVU Day of Giving 2025 with provide foundational financial support for Data Driven West Virginia at the Chambers College of Business and Economics.

Forty years ago, a small group of West Virginia women organized the inaugural Spring
Gala to benefit cancer care at what is now the
WVU Cancer Institute. E. Gordon Gee attended the event during his first stint
as the University’s president from 1981 to 1985.
