A WVU alumna is simultaneously paying tribute to her alma mater and honoring her parents with three planned gifts to benefit future students. Dr. Constance Rothermel, of Essex Fells, New Jersey, pledged generous amounts to support the School of Medicine medical laboratory science program, the School of Nursing and WVU Libraries as part of her estate.
A $500,000 gift to the West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business and Economics from Class of 1970 alumnus Fred Tattersall will provide students with experiential learning opportunities for years to come by helping to sustain and advance the Student Managed Investment Fund.
Since 1994, Dr. Peter Ngan has guided students at the WVU School of Dentistry through a rigorous residency program to help them build successful specialty careers in orthodontics. After 30 years, alumni are sharing their gratitude for his dedication with gifts totaling more than $900,000 to name the orthodontics clinic in his honor.
Young innovators, creators and entrepreneurs will gain more experience pitching their ideas thanks to a generous donation creating the Hayhurst Family Young Innovators Initiative which will accelerate the growth of WVU Extension’s youth entrepreneurship programming across West Virginia.
